iPads and Tablets for navigation – what are your thoughts?

With well over 200m iPads now sold, we’re seeing increasing numbers of boaters utilising iPads for navigation.  And, of course, it’s not just limited to iPads – there are over 1.5 billion Android devices and more than 1.5m Android device activations daily.  That’s a lot of devices and many are being used afloat already.  There’s also a brilliant selection of apps ranging from charting to weather, AIS to tracking for both operating systems.

Digital Yacht has been at the forefront of tablet navigation with an award winning range of NMEA to wifi servers and apps available.  We’d like to learn more about tablet penetration (for navigation applications) into the boating market.  Can you spare 10 seconds and answer this quick questionnaire?

If you do use a tablet please let us know what core operating system by answering one of the last two questions and feel free to add any other comments you may have.

Many thanks!
