Tortue 147 from Cataruga features Digital Yacht Electronics

Innovation often comes from unexpected inspirations. For Jean Sommereux, founder of Cataruga, a lifelong love of building first sparked by playing with lego  has evolved into the creation of one of the most unique catamarans, the Tortue 147.

Built in Tunisia, the Tortue 147 made its first appearance at the International Multihull Show in La Grande-Motte , where it had heads turning due to its bold design. Measuring 14.70 meters in length and 7.85 meters in width. The Tortue 147 is built with aluminium. Inside, the catamaran offers 3 spacious cabins that accommodates for up to nine people.  Thanks to the solar panels integrated it allows the catamaran to produce more than 20 kWh per day!

Integrated marine electronic system by Digital Yacht

To complement the craftmanship of Tortue 147, Digital Yacht has equipped the catamaran with a number of our marine electronics solutions.

4G Xtream internet router

At the heart of the system is our 4GXtream. The 4G internet router, is  integrated into the vessel’s NMEA 2000 network. Thanks to this setup, users of the vessel can benefit not only from high-speed internet access of up to 300 MBs onboard but are also able to access all navigation data on their tablet/ iPad.

Other products featured include:

  • iSeaSense instrumentation – This a complete marine instrumentation pack which is based on NMEA 2000 and wireless connectivity . The pack includes an iSeaSense wireless server, NMEA 2000 cabling and advanced boat depth, speed and temperature transducer. Furthermore, the pack also includes WND100 mast head wind sensor which adds wind data to the system and network.
  • NMEA 200 starter kit The NMEA 2000 Starter Kit allows for up to three devices to interconnect, making it ideal for setting up a basic onboard network. Additionally, Digital Yacht can supply NMEA 2000 cables and connectors, that allow you to expand your NMEA 2000, to whatever size you need!
  • AIT2500 The AIT2500 is a Class B+ SOTDMA AIS transponder with NMEA 0183, NMEA 2000 and USB data outputs and It is supplied with a GPS antenna.
