Bilge iQ Receives Double DAME Design Award at METS 2025

Bilge iQ, Digital Yacht’s new intelligent bilge pump controller and monitoring solution was awarded a prestigious DAME Design Award at this years METS 2025 trade event. The award jury were impressed with its environmental credentials and awarded a special mention in the on board safety category as well as the DAME Award for Environmental Design.

These awards follow the Best New Product award at the NMEA Annual Conference in September so it’s a hat trick for our latest new product introduction!

What is Bilge iQ

Bilge iQ connects to any traditional bilge pump, new or old and with or without a float switch. It then connects to your onboard NMEA 2000 network and multi function display (Garmin, Raymarine, Lowrance, Simrad, B&G, Furuno, Humminbird etc compatible) and allows control via your chart table or dash of the pump’s operation via simple NMEA switching commands.

Bilge iQ also features a wireless interface so you can connect from your mobile device or tablet and review a history of pump operations, monitor pump current draw and set alerts which are also generated on the NMEA 2000 bus so will pop up on compatible MFDs.

With true current monitoring, granular information is available on pump operation – is it running dry? Or, is it not running despite being activated? There’s also the facility for a 2nd high level water float switch

And with Victron VRM and Cerbo integration…

Bilge iQ will also connect via NMEA 2000 to Victron Cerbo systems where the latest versions of software now support Bilge iQ switching and remote monitoring via Victron’s free VRM cloud platform.

And for a better environment….

Clearly a boat sinking has a huge environmental impact but perhaps more importantly, on a day to day basis, the bilge by definition is the low point in the boat where all contaminants collect – fuel and oil spillages, paint flakes, micro plastics etc. To then discharge this overboard makes no sense and just damages the beautiful marine environment.

3rd party filter manufacturers like Wave International have sophisticated filters available that can fit to the output of the pump to filter these contaminants. These make sense and Bilge iQ can help with an economic replacement schedule by delivering information on pump run times and estimated flow rates.
