Over 50 members of the Castle Cove Sailing Club and the Weymouth and Portland Cruising Association attended a talk on 21st Century Marine Electronics, last night, presented by our CTO Paul Sumpner.
The talk which showed how marine electronics has changed in the past 30-40 years, highlighted the most significant new technologies and changes in the last 5 years. Covering the full range of navigation, communication, safety, propulsion and entertainment equipment, the talk ended with a look at how smart phones and tablets are changing the way we navigate and how existing systems can “go wireless” by installing wireless NMEA interfaces.
This was the first time that Paul had presented this new talk and feedback was very positive from attendees, so we have decided to publish a PDF of the slides that he gave. Click here to download a copy.
