Savvy Navvy is a marine navigation app often described as “Google Maps for boats.” It runs on iOS, Android, and desktop, and combines nautical charts, weather, tides, AIS, GPS tracking, smart routing and planning tools to help you manage your voyage from a single interface. It includes features like smart route planning with dynamic ETA calculations, marine weather overlays, tide data, track logging, anchor alarms, and more.
Savvy Navvy has recently introduced a feature called NMEA Connect that does allow the app to display live NMEA data from your boat’s instrument network.
Savvy Navvy automatically switch to NMEA data for location, speed, COG, and AIS when it’s available. If the data becomes unavailable on the NMEA bus (even for a short while while the connection stays active), the app falls back to the device’s (phone/tablet) own sensors to continue showing up-to-date information.
