Digital Yacht launch the AIT6000 AIS Transponder

Digital Yacht have introduced the new AIT6000 Nucleus AIS transponder which utilises the latest Class B+ SOTDMA technology – with an integrated VHF splitter, wireless interface, 5W power output and built-in collision & anchor alarms plus NMEA multiplexing for apps and NMEA 2000 alerts for multi function displays.

SPAIS Enabled for Satellite Reception

The AIT6000 incorporates Digital Yacht’s latest SPAIS™ (space AIS) technology with AIS transmissions now enabled for reception by AIS satellites. This functionality can be easily enabled from the set up menu and will prioritise your AIS transmissions for satellite reception, ideal for offshore and ocean sailors.

Integrated NMEA 2000 Gateway

The AIT6000 has also been designed to become an onboard hub for navigation.  It features NMEA 0183 and NMEA 2000 connectivity for modern navigation systems. It also has PC connectivity via USB and a wireless interface supporting up to 7 tablets or phones which can utilise the data for app integration.

AIT6000 adds a lot of interfacing capability through this WiFi interface with not just AIS and GPS data from the transponder being sent but also boat instrument data from the NMEA 2000 network thanks to its internal NMEA 2000 multiplexer – such as depth, heading, speed and wind information.

Built-in Collision & Anchor Alarms

The AIT6000 also has a built in interface accessible via any connected device for diagnostics, silence of AIS transmissions and also alerts for anchor drift and AIS closest point of approach (CPA) and time to CPA (TCPA).

These alarms can be monitored through the wireless interface with an attractive graphical display of current status or NMEA 2000 alerts can be sent over the NMEA 2000 network for pop up notifications or NavAlarm audible activations. This allows navigators to receive critical collision-avoidance warnings even when a chartplotter is not in use

There is also a switched output on the AIT6000 power data cable which allows the alarm to attach to a sounder, relay or connect to a 3rd party system for alert activation.

Integrated Antenna VHF Splitter

Installation is simple with an integrated and patented zero-loss VHF antenna splitter so the main VHF antenna is used for both AIS and VHF operation.
