Re-Configuring an HSC100

Our popular HSC100 compass sensor comes in two versions; the original HSC100 and the newer HSC100T which outputs HDT and ROT for Class A Transponders.

In some installations, it is necessary to re-configure the HSC100 to output a different format of compass heading sentence or to change the damping on the HSC100T to get a more stable output.

To make this process easier, Digital Yacht have created a new Tech Note that gives a step by step guide on how this can be done. Click here to download the new Tech Note.

In order to carry out this re-configuration, you will need to also download a copy of Tera Term which is a great (free) terminal program that every engineer or enthusiast should have a copy of.  We use it all of the time at Digital Yacht and you will find it referred to in a lot of our Tech Notes. To download a copy click here.
