Following on from our previous post on using our AIS products with the popular open source navigation software OpenCPN, Digital Yacht have released a new Tech Note that explains how to get our latest AIT2000 Class B Transponder working with OpenCPN on a Mac or LINUX PC. Under Windows, there is not a problem, but on a Mac or LINUX machine, the AIT2000 is not shown in the list of available COM ports but by entering the device name manually, you can easily get GPS and AIS data in to OpenCPN.
