From sudden changes in barometric pressure to rising humidity, boats are full of surprises. That is why having access to key data on how your boat is functioning, is super important.

So how can you tap into all of this data when out on your boat? Thanks to the Digital Yacht NavLink Blue & RuuviTag sensors, It provides a perfect temperature, humidity and barometric pressure monitoring solution for NMEA 2000 and smart devices and a great solution for local weather monitoring.

What is the NavLink Blue?

NavLink Blue is a Bluetooth-enabled NMEA 2000 gateway developed by Digital Yacht. Designed for plug-and-play installation on your boat’s NMEA 2000 backbone, it bridges BlueTooth sensors such as Vakaros Atlas 2, Ruuvi, etc to the NMEA 2000 network. The gateway is also bi-directional, so BT sensor data can be communicated back to the NMEA 2000 system.

What Is the RuuviTag Bluetooth ?

RuuviTag Bluetooth Sensors are offering environmental monitoring from wireless temperature, humidity, air pressure and motion sensors. this allows temperature, humidity, and air pressure readings to be displayed directly on your boats multi function display.

RuuviTag Pro or RuuviTag?

There are 2 models the RuuviTag and the the RuuviTag Pro for your boat . The pro verison is a more rugged version of the RuuviTag. Both share the same circuit board design and operating principle. The RuuviTag Pro features a more accurate temperature sensor, a more durable enclosure, improved mounting options, and a wider operating temperature range battery. If you’re unsure whether the basic RuuviTag will meet your needs, especially if you plan to use the sensors in extreme conditions or industrial environments, we recommend selecting the RuuviTag Pro.

The NAVLink Blue can support up to 16 sensors so you can monitor multiple areas around your boat.

Practical uses of Ruuvi Sensors paired with NavLink Blue on Board

NAVLink Blue & Ruuvi Sensors, offer a smart solution for monitoring vital boat conditions these include engine and equipment monitoring, local weather forcasting, cold storage control, moisture management and remote monitoring with Njordlink.

Engine & Equipment Monitoring

You can place RuuviTag Pro sensors in engine bays, battery compartments, or technical areas to spot overheating, this also allows you to track cooling performance which allows you to detect unusual temperature shifts that would signal maintenance needs.

Local Weather Forecasting

Thanks to the built-in barometer it lets you track pressure changes to predict weather fronts. It combines data with forecasts for better planning, and allows you to choose safer routes and anchorages based on local conditions.

Cold Storage Control

Something we don’t often think about is our fridge and freezer, thanks to this solution you are able to monitor your fridges and freezers to ensure food stays at a safe temperature. You are able to receive alerts if thresholds are exceeded and faults are detected. This will help to avoid spoilage of your food.

Moisture Management

Moisture management is essential for maintaining your boat’s condition. With the Ruuvi sensors, you can keep humidity in check on your boat. This solution can prevent mold and damp and Improve ventilation and dehumidification efficiency.
