Each year, the METS Trade Show in Amsterdam, which is the world’s largest B2B exhibition for the leisure marine industry, host the DAME Design Awards. Since 1991 awards have been given to recognise the boating industry’s most prestigious products which stand out for innovation, quality, and design. Only one product per category is awarded, ranging from safety, to electronics, to entertainment and more!
Digital Yacht was founded in 2010, and we are proud to say we have achieved 14 DAME Award nominations, outperforming marine electronic industry giants. This includes us winning an award for our iAIS WiFi Receiver in 2011, which made AIS data accessible wirelessly. Additionally, we have received 2 special mentions. One for our NOMAD in 2017, a portable AIS transponder, and one for our CO Alert in 2023, a carbon monoxide detector.
This year, two new products will join our list of DAME Award nominations:
OneFix
Transform any navigation system with this ultimate positioning solution. OneFix is a high-precision GNSS receiver with QuadNav positioning . It delivers sub-1 meter accuracy with fast 10Hz updates, robust anti-spoofing, and advanced algorithmic positional calculations. Furthermore, it has multiple outputs including NMEA 2000, NMEA 0183, wireless, SD card (for voyage recording) and a timing pulse.
MOB Alert
A simple yet powerful Man Overboard alert system designed for any NMEA 2000 network. With just a push of a button, it sends an instant MOB alert directly to your boat’s NMEA 2000 system, improving the safety onboard. It also meets the latest sailing race regulations that specify the need for a MOB button within arm’s reach of the helm.
We are also launching our new Njord Cloud platform for real time boat monitoring, historical data analysis, maintenance and advanced AI functionality. It’s a step change in technology for the whole industry and based around our new NjordLINK gateway.
Digital Yacht is continuously innovating, and our 14 DAME Award nominations reflect our passion for this. With OneFix and MOB Alert up for nomination at this years METS 2024, we look forward to continue to deliver next-generation marine electronics for the boating community for many years to come!
